After a too-long absence, I'll be back in Kentucky this weekend for the Kentucky Book Fair.
They say it's the largest literary event in Kentucky, and people tell me they can't imagine missing it. The Kentucky Book Fair is this Saturday, November 13, at the Frankfort Convention Center.
I've participated in several other book fair events, but none quite this large. More than 200 authors will be discussing and signing their books from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (EST). I'm looking forward to meeting some of the history authors I've read and admired, but all genres are represented at the event. Admission is free, and book sales proceeds go to Kentucky libraries and literacy programs.
I'll be at my table in the Convention Center all day Saturday with My Old Confederate Home: A Respectable Place for Civil War Veterans, and I hope to see you there.
Friday night is Frankfort's annual Candlelight Tour, sponsored by the Kentucky Historical Society and centered around the history center there. Downtown businesses and restaurants will be decked out for this pre-holiday event, and there are a number of author events planned around town. I'll be at the Clark Center for Kentucky History downtown at 5:30 Friday doing a presentation on My Old Confederate Home.

Hey Rusty, I ordered your book at work and now just have to pay for it. The reviews looks good and I can't wait to read it! Hope the book fair goes well for you.
